About Mediamorphy
Private by design
Most online converters upload your file to a server, convert it there, and send it back — which means your personal videos and recordings pass through someone else's machine. Mediamorphy works differently. It uses a build of FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly that runs directly inside your browser tab, so your media is processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. That is what makes it genuinely private: the file simply has no reason to leave your computer.
Free, because it costs us almost nothing
Since the heavy lifting happens on your device rather than on our servers, running Mediamorphy is inexpensive. A few unobtrusive ads cover hosting, so the tool can stay free for everyone with no sign-up, no limits, and no watermark.
Supported formats
Video
MP4, WebM, AVI, MOV, MKV, and animated GIF
Audio
MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, and FLAC
You can also adjust common options while converting — resolution, quality, frame rate, bitrate, volume, and trimming a clip to a start and end point.
Open-source software
Mediamorphy is built on FFmpeg and other free and open-source software. See the licenses & source page for the full component list, license texts, and corresponding source code.
